War-worm queens are as terrifying as they are disgusting. Massive, fat and gray, they hearken back to another time, when alien powers ruled the races of man. Unable to capture their own prey, queens rely upon worshipers to supply them with a steady diet of humanoid blood. This practice stretches back into time immemorial and many of mankind's oldest temples contain hieroglyphics depicting high priests feeding mammoth war-worms.

Some sages argue that these temples demonstrate that the human race was created for the sole purpose of feeding the endless hunger of the war-worms, citing the race's rapid rate of reproduction and willingness to blindly follow senseless causes.

Given enough time and enough blood, every war-worm has the potential to grow into a queen. At some point in the worm's growth, the fanged face is absorbed, leaving only vestigial fangs and the queen's trademark tongue. Raspy and strong, the tongue is perfectly designed to lap at the wounds of the worm's prey.

Combat
The war-worm queen is largely ineffectual in combat. Her one defense is an acidic excrement she can spray from her abdomen. What it lacks in accuracy, the spray makes up in volume; the attack is capable of drenching an entire adventuring party in burning acid.

Acid Spray (Ex): Once per round, a war-worm queen can launch an acid spray, a ranged touch attack with a range of 20 feet that does not draw an attack of opportunity. The spray is a grenade-like attack, inflicting 1d6 points of acid damage to the target and 1d4 points of splash damage to all creatures within 5 feet of the target.
