Campaign Design - Spells: Sirchade's Breath

Sirchade's Breath (from Serpent Kingdoms; originally Laogzed's Breath)
Conjuration (Creation)

Level: Cleric/Favored Soul 3, Sorcerer/Wizard 3
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 feet + 5 feet per 2 caster levels)
Target, Effect, or Area: Cone
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Fortitude negates; see text
Spell Resistance: No

Sirchade's breath creates a cone of fog that obscures all sight, including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. A creature within 5 feet has concealment (attacks have a 20% miss chance). Creatures farther away have total concealment, gaining a 50% miss chance, and preventing attackers from using sight to locate the target.

Living creatures in the cone become nauseated unless they succeed at a Fortitude save. This condition lasts as long as the creature is in the cloud and for 1d4+1 rounds after it leaves. Roll separately for each nauseated character. Any creature that succeeds on its save but remains in the cloud must continue to save each round on your turn. The nauseating vapors persist for 10 rounds.

A moderate wind (11+ mph) disperses the fog in 4 rounds; a strong wind (21+ mph) disperses the fog in 1 round.

The spell does not function underwater.

Arcane material component: A rotten egg or several skunk cabbage leaves.
