General Rules: Monsters - Dæmonic Creature (Template)

Dæmonic Creature (from the Unholy Warrior's Handbook)

Any corporeal creature of nongood alignment are viable candidates for the dæmonic template. Magical beasts and animals acquiring this template become outsiders, but otherwise the creature's type does not change. Creatures with this template use all of the base creature's statistics and special abilities, except as noted here:

Special Attacks: A dæmonic creature retains all the special attacks of the base creature and gains the following features:
  • Smite Good (Su): Once per day per 5 Hit Dice, a dæmonic creature may make a normal attack dealing additional damage equal to its Hit Dice (to a maximum of +20) against a good foe.

Special Qualities: Dæmonic creatures retain all the special qualities of their base creature. Additionally, they gain the following abilities (in the case of duplicate abilities, use the better of the two values):
  • Darkvision with a range of 60 feet.
  • Cold, fire, and electricity resistance (see the table to the right)
  • Immunity to poison and acid
  • Damage reduction (see the table to the right)
Saves: Same as the base creature.
Abilities: Same as the base creature.
Skills: Same as the base creature.
Feats: Same as the base creature.
Climate/Terrain: Any land and underground.
Organization: Same as the base creature.
Challenge Rating: Variable:
  • Up to 3 Hit Dice: As base creature.
  • 4 Hit Dice to 7 Hit Dice: As base creature +1
  • 8+ Hit Dice: As base creature +2
Treasure: Same as the base creature.
Alignment: Always neutral evil.
Advancements: Same as the base creature.
