This spell creates whirling field of force tendrils that protect your organs and other vital areas, granting a +2 deflection bonus to Armor Class. In addition, any time an attacker scores a critical threat against you, you gain a +5 deflection bonus to your Armor Class for the purpose of determining whether the attack was a critical or not. This secondary bonus increases by +1 for every 2 caster levels you have beyond the 10^th.
