Campaign Design - Spells: Mass Ethereal Projection

Mass Ethereal Projection (adapted from the Shaman's Handbook)
Necromancy

Level: Cleric/Favored Soul 6, Druid/Spirit Shaman 6, Sorcerer/Wizard 8
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Touch (see text)
Target, Effect, or Area: You and one other touched creature per three caster levels
Duration: 1 minute per caster level (D)
Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless)
Spell Resistance: Yes

You send your spirit and the spirits of up to one additional creature per three caster levels joined by linked hand into the Ethereal Plane, leaving your bodies behind in deep, deathlike trances. Once ethereal, affected creatures no longer need to stay together to maintain the spell's effect. Every subject's spirit has all of the subject's normal abilities and ethereal duplicates of everything they wear and carry (except for living creatures like a familiar). When the spell expires, all subjects return to their material bodies. The subject's bodies suffer all of the damage their spirits receive and vice versa, making them vulnerable to harm from both the Ethereal Plane and Material Planes. If the body or spirit of one of the subjects of the spell is killed, that subject dies.(br/>

An ethereal creature is invisible, insubstantial, and capable of moving in any direction, even up or down, albeit at half normal speed. As an insubstantial creature, you can move through solid objects, including living creatures. An ethereal creature can see and hear on the Material Plane, but everything looks gray and ephemeral. Sight and hearing onto the Material Plane are limited to 60 feet.

Force effects and abjurations affect an ethereal creature normally. Their effects extend onto the Ethereal Plane from the Material Plane, but not vice versa. An ethereal creature can’t attack material creatures, and spells cast while ethereal affect only other ethereal things. Certain material creatures or objects have attacks or effects that work on the Ethereal Plane.

All subjects treat other ethereal creatures and ethereal objects as if they were material.
