This is a collection of furniture and general purpose tools. Many of these items could be useful for adventurers, although they are not specifically made for adventuring.

This list uses several abbreviations to show what sourcebook the entries were drawn from. For guidance as to what sourcebooks these abbreviations reference, see my key to Sourcebook Abbreviations.

Item Descriptions

Bookstand: (Path of the Magi) Used to hold open a book at a comfortable level, the bookstand keeps valuable spellbooks or reference books off working tables and out of the hand of the individual trying to use them. The whole stand is made of wrought iron, while the slightly angled plane where the book rests is usually covered with a smooth piece of wood or padded leather. Its height it adjustable so any Small to Large sized creature may comfortably use it. Craft: Blacksmithing DC 15.

Broom: (Path of the Magi) The simple broom, made from a stick with straw tied to one end, is highly useful for cleaning up a dirty lab or dangerous spills. No Craft DC.

Cage, Tiny: (Mercenaries) This cage is made of iron, and has hardness 10 and 10 hit points.

Cage, Small: (Mercenaries) This cage is made of iron, and has hardness 10 and 20 hit points.

Cage, Medium: (Mercenaries) This cage is made of iron, and has hardness 10 and 30 hit points.

Cage, Large: (Mercenaries) This cage is made of iron, and has hardness 15 and 50 hit points.

Cage, Huge: (Mercenaries) This cage is made of iron, and has hardness 20 and 100 hit points.

Camp Chair, Cloth: (Mercenaries) This small folding chair is used to rest and plan at night around the campfire.

Camp Chair, Wooden: (Mercenaries) This small folding chair is used to rest and plan at night around the campfire. This version is usually used by officers and commanders in the field.

Camp Table: (Mercenaries) This table is made from wood and can seat 6 men easily.

Fencepost: (Mercenaries) Standing at about 5 feet tall, a fencepost is a 6 inch diameter post, driven into the ground for support of a fence.

Shovel: (Path of the Magi) Used mostly by adventurers to dig into buried cities and crypts, the shovel can also be used as a weapon in desperate times. If used in this manner, it is an improvised weapon that deals damage as a light mace that can also do slashing damage. Craft: Blacksmithing DC 10.

Spade: (Path of the Magi) The spade is a small shovel with a narrow blade and a leather-wrapped handle just big enough for one hand. For those adventurers interested in finer excavation than a shovel provides, a spade is a valuable tool. In desperate times it can be used as a weapon. If used in this fashion, the spade is an improved weapon that deals damage as a dagger and can also do bludgeoning damage. Craft: Blacksmithing DC 10.

Table, Portable: (Path of the Magi) When assembled, the portable table stands a little under four feet high and is four-foot square. The tabletop is made of a lightweight wood, while the legs are metal tubes that fold up under the top. In its folded state, it can be used as a makeshift tower shield, but this requires both hands and the use of the Total Defense action. Craft: Blacksmithing DC 15 and Craft: Carpentry DC 15.
