Campaign Design - Spells: Mind Raid

Mind Raid (adapted from Relics & Rituals)
Divination

Level: Bard 3, Cleric/Favored Soul 3, Sorcerer/Wizard 3
Components: V, S, F/DF
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Touch
Target, Effect, or Area: Creature touched
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: No

With mind raid, you penetrate a target creature's thoughts much more deeply than you would with detect thoughts. Should the target fail a Will saving throw, the caster gains quick and thorough access to his complete memories and knowledge insofar as it related to gathering a single fact to answer one distinct question. For example, a use of mind raid could find an answer o the question "Who hired you to kidnap the prince?", but the question "What do you know about the plot to kidnap the prince?" is too vague. The information so gained isn't necessarily true, but it reflects what the target believes and what the target would normally be capable of recalling from memory. If the subject does not know the answer to the question, the spell fails, although you will know why.

The spell may be used on an unwilling victim by means of a touch attack.

Arcane material component: The preserved eyeball of a telepathic creature.
