Campaign Design - Spells: Transference

Transference (from the Book of the Righteous)
Abjuration

Level: Cleric/Favored Soul 3
Components: V, S, F
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 feet + 5 feet per 2 caster levels)
Target, Effect, or Area: One creature
Duration: 1 hour per caster level (D)
Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless)
Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)

This spell wards the subject and creates a mystic connection between you and the subject so that all damage or harmful effects (such as charm, disintegration, ability damage, or level draining) that affect the subject of the transference affect you instead.

The subject gains a +1 deflection bonus to Armor Class and a +1 resistance bonus on Reflex saves. The subject rolls Reflex saves when affected by a spell or anything else that he must physically escape - leaving you to suffer the consequences if he fails. You have to roll saves against any effects that require a Will or Fortitude save. For any spells or effects based on the target's Hit Dice or statistics (such as sleep), you use the subject's statistics, not yours.

If the subject of the transference is affected by an area-effect spell that also affects you, two saving throws must be rolled, and you can be affected twice. For example, if you are both in the area of effect of a fireball, you may be affected by the fireball twice.

If you and the subject of the spell move out of range of each other, the spell ends. A creature can be the subject of only one transference spell at a time. The caster of the transference may not himself be the subject of a transference spell.

Focus: A pair of platinum rings (worth at least 50 shillings each) worn by both you and the warded creature.
