Campaign Design - Spells: Daggers of Vaul

Daggers of Vaul (adapted from Relics & Rituals)
Conjuration (Summoning)

Level: Cleric/Favored Soul 7, Sorcerer/Wizard 7
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Medium (100 feet + 10 feet per caster level)
Target, Effect, or Area: One or more creatures
Duration: 1 round per caster level (D)
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No

This spell conjures a dancing cloud of tiny dagger-like objects, one for each of your caster levels (maximum 20). You assign the daggers to any opponents within range, dividing them up as you please. The daggers immediately attack in the round summoned and continue to attack on your action for the duration of the spell. Each dagger attacks using your base attack bonus with no Strength modifier and a +4 size modifier to its attack roll. On a successful hit, each dagger inflicts 1d4 points of damage. The daggers are not considered magical weapons.

Once assigned to an opponent, the daggers will not stop attacking that opponent, even if the opponent is slain. Daggers move at 30 feet per round to pursue their assigned target. Any daggers assigned to opponents who move beyond the spell's range will float at the edge of the spell's range like dogs at the end of their leashes. As a standard action, the caster may reassign any and all daggers to new opponents.

Material component: An ordinary dagger.
