Campaign Design - Spells: Fæy Sleep

Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Medium (100 feet +10 feet per caster level)
Target, Effect, or Area: One or more living creatures within a 15-foot-radius burst
Duration: 1 minute per caster level
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

A more powerful version of the sleep spell used by many fæy, this spell causes magical slumber to come upon 4d4 total Hit Dice of creatures and no creature with greater than 8 Hit Dice can be affected. Creatures with the fewest Hit Dice are affected first. Among creatures with equal Hit Dice, those who are closest to the spell’s point of origin are affected first. Hit Dice that are not sufficient to affect a creature are wasted.

Sleeping creatures are helpless. Slapping or wounding awakens affected creatures, but normal noise does not. Awakening a creature is a standard action as an application of the Aid Another action. The spell does not target unconscious creatures, constructs, or undead.

Material component: A cupful of sand.
