Campaign Design - Spells: Oaken Archer

Oaken Archer (from the Player's Guide to Clerics and Druids)
Transmutation

Components: V, S, M, DF
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 feet + 5 feet per 2 caster levels)
Target, Effect, or Area: One oak tree
Duration: 1 round per caster level
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No

This spell enchants a single tree (despite the name, any type of tree can be enchanted with this spell) so that it flings sharpened wooden projectiles at a target designated by the caster. For the duration of the spell, the tree can fling one shaft per round. The tree attacks using the caster's base attack bonus plus the caster's Wisdom bonus, and inflicts 1d8 points of piercing damage on a successful hit. The shafts have the range and critical hit attributes of an arrow loosed from longbow. The tree attacks on the caster's initiative each round, and continues attacking the target originally designated unless the caster takes a move-equivalent action to designate a different target.

Material component: An acorn, berry, nut, or pine cone of the tree's type daubed with whetting oil or the type used to keep arrowheads in good condition.
