General Rules: Feats - Chain Spell

Chain Spell [Metamagic] (from Relics & Rituals)
You can cast spells that arc to secondary targets.
Benefit: This feat allows your spell's to arc from target to target. Only spells with an area of "ray" or "cone" are affected by this feat. Spells with an area of "cone" become rays when cast with the chain spell feat.

If you succeed at your ranged touch attack, the chained spell hits the primary target first. Once the spell his the primary target, secondary rays then arc from the primary target to hit a number of secondary targets. You may generate a number of secondary rays equal to your caster level. You make a ranged touch attack as normal to strike each secondary target. You choose which secondary targets to strike, but all must be within 30 feet of the primary target. More than one secondary bolt can be targeted at a secondary target, but it will only suffer the results of one secondary bolt no matter how many succeed at striking him. You may choose to affect fewer secondary targets than the feat allows.

The primary target is affected by the spell as normal, but secondary targets take half damage (or suffer half the effect) from the spell. If the spell causes an effect other than damage, the secondary target receives a +4 to any applicable save.

A chained spell uses up a spell slot three levels higher than the spell's actual level.
