A clockbug resembles a beetle with thin, silver wings and a brass body. Its main gears have a clock-like shape, and it emits a small ticking sound when flying.

Combat
With no effective attacks, a clockbug will try to avoid combat whenever possible.

Construct: Immune to mind-influencing effects, poison, disease, death effects, paralysis, stunning, sleep, and similar effects. Not subject to critical hits, nonlethal damage, ability damage, energy drain, or death from massive damage. Destroyed when reduced to 0 hit points, cannot be raised. Cannot be healed with healing magic unless it specifically says it works on constructs, and does not heal on its own.

Clockbugs as Familiars
Clockbugs can serve as familiars for characters eligible to obtain familiars including arcane engineers, hexblades, mind weavers, shadowsworn, sorcerers, and wizards. To do so, the character must take the Improved Familiar feat and be at least a 5th-level caster. An arcane caster with a clockbug familiar gains a +2 bonus on Reflex saves and the duration of all spells the master casts is calculated as if the master were one level higher.
