Believed to be extinct, battle sohr are an ancient magical creation attributed to the Tauta' that display the markings of both druidic and arcane magic. These ferocious creatures grew to about 30 feet long. Black and white in color, their retained the appearnce of the creatures they were based upon:Orcas. Their pectoral fins were long, flat, and broad, like massive wings. Like normal sohr, they were created through magic. Domesitcated battle sohr were ridden like warhorses, except that their great size allowed room for two to ride together. While the initial rider controlled the beast and often bore a lance, the second was usually an archer or crossbow wielder. Each would sit within a massive leather saddle designed for two.
Combat
Battle sohr were trained for combat, and flew fearlessly into the fray, attacking with a firece bite.
Blindsight (Ex): Battle sohr can "see" by emitting high-frequency sounds, inaudible to most other creatures, that allow them to locate objects and creatures within 120 feet. A
silence spell negates this ability and forces a battle sohr to rely on its vision, which is approximately as good as a human's.
Control Weather (Su): Battle sohr can control weather to a limited degree, causing storms to part just enough to allow them to pass unaffected by the harsh winds, lightning, or other dangers.
Flight (Ex): A battle sohr's body is naturally buoyant. This buoyancy allows it to
fly as the spell, as a free action, at a speed of 40 feet. This buoyancy also grants it a permanent
feather fall effect with personal range.
Skills: Battle sohr gain a +4 racial bonus to Spot and Listen checks. These bonuses go away if blindsight is negated.
